September 13, 2021 Melissa Dessaulles from Mommy Berries Season 1 Episode 21
The Pelvic Floor Project
21. The benefits of having a doula
Show Notes

In this episode, I sit down with Erin Stoneman, a doula and birth photographer to discuss:

  • What is a doula?
  • Why this profession is emerging
  • Support provided during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period
  • How doulas and pelvic health physiotherapists can work together
  • How to decide if a doula is right for you

Erin Stoneman was a nurse before training to be a doula. It was when she was home with her 3 young kids that she realized where she belonged in the world. Her desire to empower and support women during their own transition to motherhood was what nudged her towards her current profession.

Erin offers her clients a unique experience as she is also a birth photographer, allowing her to capture emerging life in its raw and real form.

Erin lives in Kelowna BC with her husband and 3 kids.
