Should I bother with perineal massage?
Apr 19, 2021 Season 1 Episode 6

Awareness of perineal massage is on the rise. In this episode, I sit down with Meghan MacKenzie, a registered midwife from Community Midwives in Kelowna BC to discuss:

  • What the research says about perineal massage
  • The goals of perineal massage
  • How I teach perineal massage (as a physiotherapist)
  • The benefits of learning more about your perineum
  • Ways that your care provider can help you relax your perineum during birth
  • The benefits of perineal massage postpartum

Our goal for this episode is to:
Help you feel informed about your options for birth preparation.

Meghan is a Registered Midwife with Community Midwives Kelowna and has been working with women and families in the Okanagan area for the past 5 years.  She loves supporting women and families through their pregnancy and birth journeys and feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to work alongside some amazing inter-professional colleagues here in Kelowna.
